What is TrueUSD and how is it different from Bitcoin or any other Altcoins?
TrueUSD, part of TrustToken asset tokenization platform, is a blockchain-based stable coin pegged to the value of USD. Unlike Bitcoin or other Altcoins, the fiat value of TrueUSD is not impacted significantly by market volatility or a “bear market” since it maintains the same fiat value.
TrustToken is licenced and registered in the USA and its TrueUSD (TUSD) is based 1:1 to the US dollar.
To understand this better, let’s consider an example:
The fiat value of 1 TUSD was 1 USD (+-1%) in Dec 2017 when the fiat equivalent of 1 Bitcoin was nearly 20,000 USD; today the fiat value of 1 TUSD is 1 USD (+-1%) when the fiat equivalent of 1 Bitcoin is 3,500 USD. This means 20,000 TUSD is still worth USD$20,000 since Dec 2017 even though the value of Bitcoin has dropped to USD$3,500 over the same timespan.
Unlike other alts like Ripple (XRP) or Ethereum (ETH), TrueUSD (TUSD) does not suffer the same impact from the bear market or volatility.
Why a TUSD based hedge fund?
